Project Full Name： EPIC for Topside, pipeline & Modification for new wellhead platform (WHP)-3 near NFA complex
In the beginning for Year 2017, Deping kicked off the research and development of laser and camera system for inspection, after the product was finalized, it was used in the pipe for test, the engineer from the Third party BV was invited to conduct test in our factory by comparing test datas from CMM coordinate measuring machine and laser and camera system, BV engineer concluded the accuracy level of laser and camera system is 0.2mm, the result was satisfactory.
On Oct. 2017, our internal line up clamp with laser & camera system and CRA pipe facing machine was delivered to COOEC Qingdao site for welding prequalification and machine verification. The test had lasted for 3 months, the good performance clear the owner’s representative doubt, the internal line up clamp with laser & camera system got approval for NFA WHP3 project formally
On Aug. 6~9 2018, all project team members took part in safety training from OPITO, the training courses include: theoretical research, helicopter lifeboat escape, fire training, hydrogen sulfide safety protection and emergency means, and escape etc.
On Aug 27, all members of the first team arrived for 20in CRA pipe bevel at ENKOM shipyard in Qatar. It was the summer time, very high temperature, the owners have strict high requirement on the bevel and
pipe facing machine. Upon effort from all team members, the bevel dimensions and accuracy fully met the requirement and passed BV inspection
On Oct. 18 2018, the second team arrived Qatar, set out to prepare the second phrase project. Everything went smooth with onshore part, however when the
internal line up clamp with laser and camera system was moved to the ship barge, due to dozen of equipment in a confined space, seriously interfere with the system operation, our engineer was facing the huge challenge. After several days debugging and software modification, the system resume work, the production kicked off formally. As the saying goes all things are difficult before they are easy; after that, our
internal line up clamp with laser and camera system perform well in the process of entire project, gain good reputation again for Deping’s products.
In the middle of Dec., the NFA WHPS –Deping part was completed successfully! Thanks for all team members’ effort!
